International Older Peoples Day 2018

Updated: Jan 8, 2019

The importance of staying active and eating healthily was promoted at the event which was attended by 65 People, held at the Chalvey Community Centre. We hosted a full programme consisting of 40 minutes of Relaxation Techniques taught by local Yoga teacher Justine Clifford (the relaxation techniques sessions are paid for by the Heathrow Community Fund).

Vijaya Gupta and Caroline Brindle presented 'Slough Seniors The Journey', highlighting our milestones since we established in 2006. Mike Connolly lay member of the Slough Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) spoke of the great work Mr Gupta and the Slough Seniors have done for the older community of Slough. Dr Kasar Sadhra from Manor Park Medical Centre gave a presentation on 'How to take care of yourself in old age'. This was followed by lunch and Bollywood music.
