Eastbourne beach day trip


Yoga sessions take place every week Tuesdays 11am to 12noon at Brook house, Chalvey. It involves gentle movements, chair poses, meditation and breathing techniques.  It is suitable for everybody who would like to improve their health and wellbeing.

Relaxation Techniques

Relaxation Techniques take place every week, Wednesdays 11am to 12noon at Brook house, Chalvey. The class involves breathing exercises, gentle movements, meditation, and opportunity for laughter at the end. Suitable for all looking to find more freedom and lightness within their mind, body & soul.

This activity is funded by the Heathrow Community Fund, to whom we are very grateful.

Keep fit

Keep fit sessions take place every week Thursdays 11am to 12noon at Brook house, Chalvey. Suits anyone who would like to improve their mobility and balance.

Subsidised Lunch

Our subsidised lunch is organised once a month as requested by our members. The group subsidises the lunch and transport is arranged on a shared basis amongst our members.

Did someone say coffee?

Second Thursday every month after the Keep Fit session at 12noon at Brook House, Chalvey. This is an opportunity for interacting and socialising at person to person level. It also includes quarterly users' forum meetings. This activity has proved to be very popular.

Sing your heart out

This activity proved very popular throughout 2017. Sing your heart out is an activity for learning and enjoyment.

Fancy a day beside the seaside

Organised 1 or 2 trips every year. Generally, to a popular seaside destination. It has been greatly in demand for the last several years. Previous trips were to the Houses of Parliament, Bournemouth, Bath, Margate, Eastbourne, Wittering, Barry Islands, Clacton-on sea and Weston-Super-Mare.

Open days: focusing on a health subject

Organised once a year, the subject is selected on the basis of discussion in the group. For example, we've had diabetes in 2014 and move more, eat less in 2015.

Special programmes for health and wellbeing

The group organises need based special programs related to mobility, health and wellness. For example, Falls Prevention Awareness workshops during July 2015.

International yoga day

Annual event that is becoming more  and more popular. It takes place every year in June. We perform yoga flows and classical yoga poses that we have practiced during our weekly yoga sessions.

Charity activities - donation to Slough Food bank and Diabetes UK

On this day members and guests make donations in cash or kind. Everything is donated to the charities. In 2014 the proceeds of a raffle were donated to Diabetes UK. In 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2018 donations were made to Slough Foodbank.
